Malibu Boats Pty Ltd (Malibu) is committed to ensuring that its premises are safe and secure and to discouraging criminal activity.
Malibu operates a closed-circuit television (CCTV) system with security cameras on its premises, both inside and outside of buildings and other facilities. These cameras are positioned in clear view and monitor the activities on and around Malibu premises on a continuous and ongoing basis. Malibu only collects images caught on camera, no sound or voice is recorded. Appropriate signage is also on display at the entrances of buildings.
The Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) requires Malibu to inform you how your personal information is collected and used, and the circumstances in which it will be disclosed.
Why do we collect personal information?
Malibu collects images of you through its use of CCTV cameras for the purposes of:
ensuring the safety and security of its staff and visitors on Malibu premises;
protecting Malibu’s property and facilities;
preventing or responding to critical incidences; and
if necessary, investigating incidents related to the above.
Who has access to this personal information?
Malibu will use surveillance images in a manner that is consistent with these purposes and in accordance with the Malibu Boats Privacy Policy (available on our website). Images are retained for a maximum of 120 days and will only be accessed by authorised users from Malibu or any third-party security provider Malibu engages.
Malibu will not disclose your personal information unless you consent, or if Malibu is required or authorised by law to do so. Requests for access to the surveillance images will be managed in accordance with the Malibu Boats Privacy Policy.
Security and retention of personal information
Reasonable security safeguards are in place to protect your personal information from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. CCTV vision is maintained on systems that are password protected and access to which is logged.
